Speech Pathology Services

Speech Pathology

Speech Pathology is in ever increasing demand at Barefoot Therapists. Our Speech Pathology team has diverse experience and we are welcoming more speech pathologists to our team.

Our multidisciplinary practice sees external and internal referrals and collaborative teams working together for improved outcomes for our children.

Our speech therapists, like all of our therapists at Barefoot can work in diverse spaces in our Main Ridge clinic or as part of our outdoors team where this is appropriate for your child.

We provide specialist assessment and management of a wide range of feeding and communication difficulties such as speech sound disorders, language delays/disorders, stuttering, social communication difficulties, literacy difficulties ( e.g. spelling, reading and writing), augmentative and alternative communication AAC (e.g. high tech and low tech communication devices and supports such as PECS, proloquo2go) and oromotor difficulties (e.g. dribbling, chewing and swallowing difficulties).

Our Food Learning Clinic - For children with Eating Difficulties is a popular program where your child and family is supported by a team of professionals including a Speech Pathologist, an Occupational Therapist and a Dietitian who will work with your family through a 5 week program to address eating difficulties and the functional, physical and psychological reasons for this, while ensuring your child is meeting adequate nutritional requirements.

Our Speech Pathologists are members of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and are registered as Certified Practising Speech Pathologists (C.P.S.P).

Our specialists are registered with private health funds in Australia to allow private health insurance benefits and are currently providers for the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care benefits. The clinic is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider and all specialists are able to provide services to all NDIS participants. Referrals can be made by families, schools or health professionals.

All Barefoot Therapists are offered opportunities to develop their own areas of interest within our business, and are supported with regular supervision and both internal and external professional development.
